A van of our own, which changes what we can send.

Most cutting bureaux will not put an 8x4 panel on a courier, and neither will we. We run our own van, so anything awkward goes on that instead.

Needs deciding, not just writing

Every figure above is invented. Price the van properly: fuel, your time at a realistic hourly rate, and the jobs you are not cutting while driving. £18 for a 50 mile round trip loses money.
The free-delivery thresholds need checking against your actual margin. £400 of cutting work does not necessarily carry a £18 delivery.
Collection is at Brook House, which is your home. Decide the hours you are willing to have trade callers, whether you want a sign, and what happens when somebody arrives while you are out. This is the part of the address decision that becomes real once the site is live.
Check your van insurance covers carriage of own goods for business use, and whether goods in transit cover is worth having for finished customer work.

Before it arrives

Will you carry it in?

On the van, usually yes, within reason and if there is somewhere sensible to put it. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only and the driver will not help, so have someone with you for a sheet order.

What if I am not in?

For van deliveries we agree a window and ring on the way. If nobody is there we bring it back and the second attempt is chargeable, because that is a wasted half day.

How is it packed?

Finished retail pieces are boxed with corner protection. Trade cut parts travel stacked and strapped with board between faces, which protects the surface but is not gift wrapping. Say if a job needs more than that.

Something arrived damaged

Photograph it before you unpack any further and send that the same day. We will recut it. Damage reported a fortnight later is much harder for either of us to do anything about.
